Really Exciting Stuff!!

There were so many cool images this week, it was really hard to pick which ones to post.  In the first photo, all the underground duct work is being ripped out.  This is the stuff that got flooded so many times.  It can only be an improvement for it to be gone!

I also loved these images of the stairs from the first floor to the ground floor.  Seeing the building stripped down like this really highlights its "great bone structure."
Digging deep for the footings!

One of the project goals is to preserve as many of our mature trees as possible.  Cross your fingers!
Within the last week the site has been really energized with outside construction activities. If you have been by the library lately you can see there has been a flurry of activity around the site with foundations beginning to be excavated for the new addition. The elevator pit has been excavated and the site will soon have foundations poured. Late last week the beautiful Cherry tree was transplanted to its new location.  While inside the library Mechanical, and Plumbing systems are continuing to be installed while demolition of the ground floor stair is underway.
